Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with AWS cloud experience and a strong background in Linux/Unix environments. The ideal candidate should have expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab, and solid experience with scripting languages including Python, JavaScript, Groovy, and Ruby.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute 25-40 weekly deployments to deploy software within an AWS cloud environment, collaborating closely with application teams.
- Automate AWS resource management using Python and boto3 scripts.
- Leverage Jenkins Console outputs to pinpoint and troubleshoot errors within the build process, improving the overall reliability and efficiency of Jenkins builds.
- Configure IAM users, roles, and policies to ensure fine-grained access control to AWS resources.
- Design and implement AWS CloudFormation templates for automating the deployment of web applications and databases.
- Understand and implement various deployment strategies and automated deployment workflows.
- Work with automated build and deploy tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or other equivalent tools.
- Provide basic database support, including experience with SQL queries and troubleshooting database-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues quickly, offering both immediate workarounds and long-term fixes.
- Ensure that DevOps practices and tools are consistently applied, supporting the organization's goals of continuous delivery across a multi-platform application portfolio.
- Develop internal automation tools and contribute to milestones in the development cycle.
- Communicate effectively in written reports and documentation (e.g., Jira, Wiki).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong AWS cloud experience, including hands-on with EC2, S3, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
- Proven expertise in CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins and GitLab.
- Solid scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, Groovy, or Ruby.
- Ability to deploy, troubleshoot, and manage software releases to AWS environments.
- Familiarity with automated deployment strategies and build/deploy pipelines.
- Experience configuring and managing IAM users, roles, and policies in AWS.
- Basic understanding of database technologies and experience with SQL queries.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging mindset with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues.
- Shift work availability (2nd shift: 2 PM - 10 PM) and participation in on-call rotation as needed, including weekends.
