DevOps/Release Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a DevOps/Release Engineer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD.

This role is hybrid (2 days/week Onsite)

Required Skills:

• AWS cloud experience is a must with strong background in Linux/Unix environments
• Expertise in working and managing CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GIT Lab.
• Solid experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Groovy, Ruby)
• Ability to handle 25-40 weekly deployments to deploy software to AWS cloud environment and working with application teams.
• Experience in writing scripts for automating AWS resource management using Python and boto3
• Leverage Jenkins Console output to be able to pinpoint errors within build process in order to quickly troubleshoot and improve potentially failed Jenkins builds.
• Configure IAM Users, Roles, and Policies to grant fine grained access to AWS Resources
• Design AWS Cloud Formation templates in order to automate deployment of Web applications and database templates.
• Understanding for automated deployments and different deployment strategies
• Experience with automated build/deploy tools such as Jenkins, Code Pipeline or equivalent
• Basic experience with database technologies with some experience in SQL queries.
• Good troubleshooting and debugging mindset. Be able to provide immediate workarounds and long-term fix.
• Ensures Devops practices and toolsets are followed to support our drive towards continuous delivery across our multi-platform application portfolio.
• Develop tools and products that are used in central automation and contribute to development milestones
• Good written communication skills and working with Jira/Wiki.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelors in Computer Science or Equivalent

Working Conditions:

• Should be working in shifts with on call rotation
• Must be able to work 2nd shift (2pm - 10pm) and weekends on rotational basis or as needed.
