Pay Rate / Salary (Ranges OK) : $28-$36 an hour
We are recruiting on behalf of a privately owned machine shop in the Grand Rapids area that is expanding into the aerospace and defense industries. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team dedicated to high-quality manufacturing and cutting-edge projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Program CNC mills and lathes using MasterCAM to produce precision aerospace and defense components.
- Develop and optimize machining processes to ensure efficiency and high-quality production.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality teams to refine programs and troubleshoot issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T, working with tight tolerances.
- Select appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds for materials such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.
- Assist in process improvements and automation to enhance production capabilities.
- 3 years of CNC programming experience in a precision machining environment.
- Proficiency in MasterCAM (required).
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
- Experience in aerospace and defense machining standards is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes for efficiency and quality.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
