PowerBI/AWS Integration Developer

Job Title: AWS Integration and Power BI Reports/Dashboards Developer
Location: Rockville, MD (hybrid)
Long term contract
Start date: March 30, 2025
Pay: up to $70/ hour, DOE

Job Overview: We are seeking a qualified AWS Integration and Power BI Reports/Dashboards Developer to join our team. The developer will work under the guidance of an Engineering Manager and be responsible for maintaining Power BI dashboards/reports and integrations built using AWS technologies. Over time, this role will also involve designing, developing, validating, and implementing financial planning models.

Required Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience implementing AWS Technologies and Power BI Reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to gather requirements from users and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in converting business requirements into technical specifications.
• Expertise in SQL queries.
• Experience with REST API, SOAP API, and API authentication.
• Proficiency in at least Java and JavaScript.
• Experience with AWS technologies such as AWS Storage (S3), AWS Postgres, ESMP, AWS Step Functions, AWS Lambda Functions, and CICD Pipelines using Jenkins.
• Proficient in Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
• Ability to perform unit testing of features.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Strong aptitude for implementing technology-enabled business solutions.
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
• Fluency in English (native or bilingual).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning.

Role Responsibilities:

• Analyze and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Develop and provide design and data model documentation.
• Design and build integrations from Workday Adaptive to Power BI.
• Design and build custom integrations to send data to external systems.
• Conduct unit and integration tests to ensure proper functionality.
• Manage system integrations within the architecture of Workday Adaptive and Power BI systems.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and generate visually appealing and insightful reports.
• Provide support for incident management and daily monitoring of integrations.
• Perform routine break/fix support, regression testing, and support for inbound/outbound interfaces.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through thorough analysis, coding, and clear documentation.
• Ensure integrations function as designed based on both functional and technical requirements.
• Consult with business and technical teams about interface design and maintenance; collaborate on design decisions.
• Work closely with Product Management and Quality Assurance teams to resolve issues during the UAT (User Acceptance Testing) phase.
• Follow data governance principles to ensure attention to data quality.
• Adhere to defined integration/development standards and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with security and data privacy standards.
