What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Chemist position at Consumer Product Partners?
Summary:
Develop/implement robust manufacturing processes & formulas. Develop master formula cards for manufacturing use. Support manufacturing in day to day operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibit team player qualities of cooperation and coordination; professional interaction in all business contacts, all day, every day
- Attendance: Present for work when scheduled is a mandatory function. Work hours may extend pass normal business hours based on the workload of the department.
- Safety: Your compliance and enforcement of all company safety rules, procedures and guidelines is essential. Reporting of safety issues is mandatory.
- Develop/implement robust manufacturing processes (weekly).
- Develop, prepare, review & approve master formulation records (weekly).
- Troubleshoot substandard batches and implement corrective actions (weekly).
- Monitor scale-up batches in manufacturing both on-site and at contract manufacturers (irregular).
- Develop new robust formulas meeting marketing specs and reformulates and/or improves existing formula through bench experimentation (irregular).
- Creates and/or reviews and approves technical documents to support developmental projects (irregular).
- Develops specs for new and/or reformulated projects (irregular).
- Source/approve new and/or alternate raw materials (irregular).
- Provide technical assistance related to product formulas to support departments as required (irregular).
- Provide support for any plant equipment changes that would affect way formulas are produced. (irregular).

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related Biological science or equivalent related work experience.
Experience Requirements:
Three years related experience and/or training as a chemist.
Competencies:
- Systems knowledge required to do data inquiry and editing
- Superior mathematical skills and ability, reasoning and problem solving ability
- Intermediate experience with MS Word, Excel and Power Point reporting tools and all Microsoft applications

Wet or humid conditions near mechanical parts. Fumes or airborne particles as
well as toxic chemicals (corrosive materials like acids/bases).
