Director of Dropship/New Business

Overview

The Director of Dropship/New Business position will work with a small internal team to plan, implement and optimize a best-in-class eCommerce Merchandising strategy to drive website engagement and grow direct-to-consumer online sales. This position will lead the drop ship program implementation, drop-ship assortment, and collaborate with all cross-functional teams to execute the sales targets.This role will also coordinate with planning and financial leaders to development a long-range business plan for the timely delivery of products to increase sales and gross margin. In addition, this role will partner with the digital & fulfillment teams on order fulfillment and liaise with customer service to monitor, moderate, and respond to customer ratings and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with buyers and merchandisers to identify & expand product categories for dropship with Commerce Hub

• Assumes responsibility of plan revenue and margin for total dropship program by category, partner with planning and digital team

• Works with planning to determine top opportunities for product expansion in categories, price points and designers

• Champions drop ship expansion within merchant organization for current vendor matrix as it relates to improved availability of items, sizes & colors

• Partners with buying teams to determine assortment, costs, and retails at the item level for assigned categories

• Acts as the liaison between Commerce Hub and Buying for developing and maintaining supplier partnerships

• Facilitates relationships within Merchandising, eCommerce/Digital, and Dropship Operations

• Defines and facilitates contract, product, and supplier negotiations

• Defines and executes on process/tactics to onboard and manage product attributes that deliver optimal shopping experiences to The Container Store customer

• Builds and defines the returns process with the digital and store operations team

• Assumes role as subject matter expert for dropship onboarding with our technology and digital teams

Qualifications

• College degree required

• Experience in eCommerce, Dropship/Marketplace and Retail Industry required

• 5 years’ experience in buying, ecommerce, merchandising or design industry required

• Based in Dallas/Fort Worth preferred, remote considered

• Ability to travel 10% a year, based on the business needs

• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and significant knowledge of Excel

• Strong knowledge of merchandising terminology, functions and analysis including retail math

• Ability to learn and comprehend merchandising systems, forecasting systems and the fundamentals of supply chain management and logistics

• Passion for consumer products and home décor

• High taste level and strong point of view in design and ability to articulate The Container Store brand

• Must be at least 18 years of age
