About this position:
In this role, youll undertake a wide range of Human Resources tasks, such as facilitating and communicating organizational policies and programs, ensuring labor law and regulatory compliance, organizing training, administering employee benefits and leaves and crafting HR policies. You will also use our Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential.
An ideal candidate will be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills. You exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and training. You are comfortable managing gray areas, effective at supporting both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping with important functions such as staffing, development, and compensation and benefits.
This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
In this role you will:
Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
Assist in developing and executing employee procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
Ensure and comply with all existing governmental and labor legal reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Team member Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, and update policies and/or procedures as required
Assist with conducting employee onboarding and coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first experience
Support recruiting, including help with scheduling, background checks and employee eligibility verifications, and issuing employment contracts
Organize and assist with employee performance reviews
Maintain employee files in our human resources information system (HRIS) to ensure accuracy and compliance in preparation for audits
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart
Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices
Anything else the company may reasonably require
Experience:
You've done this beforeyou have experience in a high-growth startup environment with constant change as your companion
Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
Great knowledge of employment/labor laws
Superior knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems and comfort learning new technology systems as needed
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desire to work as part of a team with a results driven approach
Preferred Experience:
Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration or commensurate work experience.
5 years of experience working within Human Resources
Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS
HR Certifications
