What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. FPGA Engineer position at Continental Electronics Corporation?
We are looking for a senior level FPGA Engineer who will design, test, and integrate complex FPGA-based digital signal processing and control algorithms for state-of-the-art RF transmitter systems. This individual will work closely with hardware & software engineers throughout the program development and system installation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and document functional requirements
Design, simulate and implement FPGA-based digital signal processing, e.g. baseband signal processing.
Design FPGA-based circuit card assemblies using schematic capture.
Develop hardware prototypes, debug and test using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers, etc.
Define and coordinate software tasks related to hardware-software interfaces within FPGA-based circuit card assemblies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with 8 or more years of relevant experience
Skilled at translating system level requirements to FPGA solution space
Proficiency with Xilinx FPGA design flows using both ISE and Vivado. VHDL design entry is essential.
Detailed experience with full FPGA design process, including simulation, synthesis, implementation, and timing closure
Recent experience with Xilinx 7 series devices
Expertise in the following areas of FPGA-based real-time DSP implementation : decimation / interpolation filters, fractional delay filters, asynchronous sample rate conversion, NCO, Hilbert transforms, FFT and waveform generation.
Experience with FPGA hardware interfaces related to RF sampling and waveform generation using A / D and D / A converters.
Experience using version control tools to manage states of files and collaboratively develop them with teammates
Experience designing re-usable circuits that can be utilized across multiple projects
Design and implement test fixtures including test plans for both chip level and board level environments
