Continental Express, an asset based, truck load carrier is currently seeking a Customer Service Associate at its corporate office in Sidney. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicates with customers electronically and via telephone to schedule freight pick-up and delivery appointments.
- Enters appropriate appointment times and other pertinent pick-up and delivery information in AS400 system.
- Checks appropriate customer sites/portals for load information.
- Calculates driving distances, approximates loading/unloading time when coordinating pick-up and delivery times.
- Answers telephone calls professionally and assists callers by providing necessary information or directing the caller to the necessary company contact.
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
KNOWELDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Experience/knowledge in transportation/logistics preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer knowledge and skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with a team.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be reliable and flexible to work necessary schedule to meet work demands.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 or 4 year degree required.
- 1 year or more related experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing related field preferred.
