A Day in the Life as a Field Service Technician
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for daily field service and installation for the products sold by Continental Girbau West LLC. You will be also responsible for communicating all field service issues, machine upgrade issues and trends affecting the acceptance and serviceability of all GNA product lines to the Field Service Manager. Additional responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the 1st line contact with the consumers relative to product installation and service support
- Routinely accepting phone calls from consumers and assisting and educating relative to appropriate corrective action of product related issues
- Acting as a liaison to consumers regarding issues related to product installation, machine capabilities and operating requirements
- Providing onsite field assistance services as required for delivery, installation and/or repair of all products sold by CG West
- Performing and/or coordinating any routine preventative maintenance as requested by consumers or per in-house signed maintenance contracts
- Reporting any quality-related issues to the Field Service Manager
- Testing of water quality and performing equipment programming modifications to maintain desired results
What You Need
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years of field service experience in commercial laundry industry or related field or like equivalent
- Solid electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic technological aptitude
- Ability to grasp complex issues and analyze in a goal oriented manner
- Extensive electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to develop an understanding of commercial laundry equipment including frontload washer-extractors, flatwork ironers, dryers or other related laundry equipment
- Ability to develop an understanding of electrical diagnostics and service of electronic and electromechanical components
- Ability to develop an electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic technological aptitude
- Ability to learn to read and understand electrical schematics and/or wiring and editing existing diagrams
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals
- Basic plumbing, gas and venting knowledge
- Good communication and listening skills
