Job Summary
The Measurement Technician II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and calibration of measurement equipment used in various processes. This position ensures accurate data collection and compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. The technician will work closely with engineering teams, operations staff, and external vendors to maintain the integrity of measurement systems and improve efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting, operation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and calibration of measurement systems to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
Collaborate with scheduling and operations teams to minimize production downtime and disruptions during unscheduled system outages.
Apply fundamental computer skills for email communication, utilizing meter testing and data collection software, and completing and filing electronic reports.
Assist in analyzing monthly settlement, pipeline, and terminal gain/loss data to ensure the accuracy of crude oil and gas measurement.
Conduct inspections, witness operations, and make necessary corrections to third-party measurement systems, as directed.
Support management and facilities engineering in identifying and prioritizing measurement improvement projects.
Provide assistance to team members as required to achieve departmental goals.
Demonstrate a collaborative and team-oriented approach in all tasks and responsibilities.
Perform oil pipeline maintenance.
Perform duties related to oil pipeline integrity.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma (or GED).
Solid understanding of API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards, American Gas Association Standards, Gas Processors Association Standards, industry measurement standards, and typical contract agreement language.
Demonstrated ability with field instrumentation, meters, transmitters, flow computers, etc.
Solid understanding of the methods of measurements used for custody transfer.
Valid Driver’s License with acceptable MVR.
Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route/location.
An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of oil field operational or measurement experience.
Relevant technical certification – ISA, API, NICET, CMVP or OSHA.
OQ qualifications for PHMSA regulated pipeline or willingness to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for an extended period of time.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.
Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions.
Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.
Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.
Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.
Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities.
Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in the field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
