About
Contoro Robotics is an Austin based startup focused on warehouse automation. We design a state-of-the-art autonomous truck unloading system capable of lifting boxes over 60 lbs. As a Robotics Engineering Intern, Automation, you are tasked with improving the way our robot behaves in an autonomous setting by developing novel perception and teleoperation techniques. Join us in developing robots that solve thousands of logistics problems daily with technology that works in real-industrial settings, not just flashy demos.
Job Responsibility
- Optimize image processing with libraries like OpenCV and Open3D and devices such as depth cameras
- Explore sensors and combine multiple data streams for our robust perception system
- Build a simulation environment for motion planning and perception systems
- Research and implement perception algorithms that perceive the robot’s surrounding in a shipping container with high accuracy (preferably, submilimeter)
Qualifications
- Pursuing graduate degree in robotics engineering, computer science or related field
- Software experience with Python, C and ROS
- Hands-on experience on building dynamic simulation environments using tools like IsaacSim, MuJoCu or Gazebo (e.g., configuring joints and actuators for mobile manipulators, tuning contact parameters, etc).
- Experience with common industrial sensors such as 3D Cameras, Lidars, etc.
- Ability to work at Contoro’s office location in Austin, TX
