Robotics Engineering Intern, Systems
About
Contoro Robotics is an Austin based startup focused on warehouse
automation. We design a state-of-the-art container unloading robot
capable of lifting boxes over 65 lbs. As a Robotics Engineering Co-Op, you
are a versatile thinker and willing to execute Mechanical, Electrical, and/or
Software engineering tasks. Our Co-Ops experience the full engineering
design process with several iterations of the parts you design. Expect
multidisciplinary projects with a side of ping pong and office dogs.
Job Responsibility
• System and part level design for an autonomous unloader robot
• Assemble industrial electro-mechanical systems including industrial
robot arms, PLCs, pneumatic & electrical actuators
• Prototype mechanical solutions to dynamic problems, fabricating parts
as needed (e.g. machining, sheet metal, 3D printing)
• Create system tests for verification of design/manufacturing
Qualifications
• Pursuing bachelor’s engineering degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or related field
• CAD experience of complex parts & assemblies (SOLIDWORKS preferred)
• Have designed and fabricated multi-disciplinary projects outside of class
• Machine shop experience (mill, lathe, laser cutter, shop tools)
• Ability to work at Contoro’s office location in Austin, TX
