This full supervisory-level position requires independent judgment in managing a wide range of specialized operations and maintenance duties, with accountability and ongoing decision-making responsibilities. The Water Quality Supervisor will plan, organize, supervise, review, and evaluate the work of assigned staff, providing essential support to management in various operational areas.Under general direction, the Water Quality Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the CCWD's water treatment plants, treated and raw water distribution systems, storage systems, facilities, fleet, and equipment. This position also involves managing the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ensuring compliance with District water service requirements, as well as adhering to federal, state, and local laws that govern the protection of the public water supply. The Water Quality Supervisor will coordinate activities and projects with other CCWD staff, contractors, and external organizations while ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.We are looking for someone who is: Solutions-focused with a creative approach to problem-solving.A technical expert in drinking water quality and sample collection.A motivated self-starter with effective interpersonal and leadership skills. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
PHYSICAL DEMANDS When assigned to field, must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light to heavy physical work; to sit, stand, and walk on level, uneven, or slippery surfaces; reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and crouch in the performance of assigned duties; to operate a motor vehicle and visit various District sites; and vision to inspect job sites. The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking in operational areas. Finger dexterity is needed to operate tools and equipment. Employees must possess the ability to carry, push, pull, and lift materials and objects weighing up to 90 pounds with the use of proper equipment. When assigned to an office environment, must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone; ability to stand and walk between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees also work in the field and are exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, road hazards, vibration, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, hazardous physical substances and fumes, dust, and air contaminants. Employees may be exposed to blood borne pathogens. WORKING CONDITIONSEmployees may be required to work various shifts and outside of normal shift hours on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
