This role is crucial in maintaining healthy cash flow and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Manage the collections team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Develop and implement effective collection strategies to minimize outstanding debts.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize collection efforts accordingly.
- Negotiate payment plans with clients while maintaining positive relationships.
- Utilize accounting software and financial software to track payments and manage accounts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding collections, including medical collections.
- Train team members on best practices in phone etiquette and telemarketing techniques for effective communication with clients.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement within the collections process.
Experience
- Proven experience in collections management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of debits, credits, accounts payable, and overall accounting principles.
- Familiarity with revenue cycle management processes and financial concepts.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on maintaining customer relationships.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on phone etiquette.
