Field Test Contactor Field Engineering Representative (FER)
The FER supports testing for military platforms like Abrams, Stryker, Booker, and XM-30, including Contractor, Developmental (DT), and Operational Testing (OT). Responsibilities include troubleshooting software and hardware issues, using technical documentation, and coordinating with engineering teams to resolve problems. The FER oversees vehicle configuration, test preparation, and execution at various USG test sites (e.g., APG, YPG, WSMR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct troubleshooting and failure analysis for tracked and wheeled military vehicles.
- Generate daily Engineering Logs and Universal Incident Reports (UIR).
- Guide mechanics, drivers, soldiers, and test teams during maintenance activities.
- Provide subject matter expertise and training to field teams and testers.
- Utilize tools like Team Center, iads, and Microsoft Office Suite for technical documentation.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of military vehicle maintenance and testing experience.
- Familiarity with systems engineering, diagnostics, and integration of automotive/weapons systems.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Secret clearance (or NACI) required.
- Must meet ASR and have a valid driver’s license.
Travel: Approximately 25–35% required.
