Global Customer Quality Manager
Location: On-site in Wixom, MI
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Our client is seeking an experienced Global Customer Quality Manager to drive quality excellence and continuous improvement across plant operations and product life cycles. This leadership role will support global quality initiatives, manage cross-functional collaboration, and provide OEM-related support across regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive quality performance across new launches and serial production for a specific OEM.
- Conduct monthly quality performance reviews with plant operations and report to leadership.
- Implement global and regional improvement projects as outlined in the masterplan.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production units, supply chain, and logistics to improve processes and products.
- Support internal and external audit compliance (IATF 16949, OEM audits).
- Lead and motivate QA teams across plants to meet OEM-specific requirements.
- Serve as a problem-solving resource using tools such as 8D and DMAIC.
- Ensure senior management visibility on major quality issues, including launch and field performance.
- Lead or support de-escalation taskforces during critical quality events.
- Participate in successful customer visits, audits, and production validations (run@rates).
Key Metrics for Success:
- Performance indicators including CPPM, CNCR, IPPM, INCR, SPPM, SNCR, APQP work products, and warranty outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, IATF standards, and OEM-specific requirements.
- Strong familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as:
- APQP, FMEA, 8D, DMAIC, SPC, and statistical test planning.
- Problem-solving frameworks (Six Sigma, Shainin, Kepner-Tregoe, etc.)
- Experience managing quality projects and working cross-functionally on a global scale.
- Skilled in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
