Purpose:
The purpose of the Business Development Manager is to increase market share within the assigned territory through effective cold-calling, networking, and participation in strategic trade events. The result of these activities will maximize lead generation to Account Managers.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Continuously builds base of prospects by researching, cold-calling, and networking.
- Maintains and nurtures relationships with existing customers.
- Actively pursues new customer relationships through effective networking channels to expand market share within the assigned territory.
- Consistently and accurately maintains their pipeline of leads.
- Maintains a lead volume that will support sales and gross margin targets.
- Collaborates with the General Manager and Account Managers to hand off leads.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in Marketing, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years’ experience in a similar position.
- Work schedule flexibility with the ability to travel, to include overnight, when required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upwardly with top management.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple initiatives.
- Strong communication skills: ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and demonstrates individual and group presentation skills.
- Decision-making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally.
- Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
