We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and residential settings. Your expertise in high and low voltage systems, blueprint reading, and adherence to safety protocols will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work on construction sites in different weather conditions.
- Install, maintain, and repair temperature control systems, wiring, and equipment according to local and NEC (National Electrical Code)
- Perform troubleshooting to identify electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Collaborate with contractors to discuss project specifications and requirements.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries and electrical hazards.
- Utilize hand and power tools, testing instruments, and electrical meters to complete tasks accurately and safely.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to electrical system codes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior electricians as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure project deadlines and expectations are met.
- Ability to manage yourself or a small team.
- Learn and use company ERM software.
- Ability to keep inventory of project manpower and materials.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software development, preferably in embedded systems or realtime applications.
- Proficiency in programming product lines such as Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls, and Honeywell, as well as familiarity with software development tools and version control systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and algorithms, with the ability to apply them to complex engineering problems.
- Experience with communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet) and networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP) is desirable.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and building automation is a plus.
- Excellent problemsolving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
