We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Specialist with an initial focus on SharePoint Administration to join our IT team. The Junior IT Specialist will support the daily administration and management of our SharePoint environment while assisting with general IT tasks as needed.
- SharePoint Administration:
- Support the configuration, management, and maintenance of SharePoint Online or SharePoint Server environments.
- Assist with user access control, site collection creation, and site structure management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint-related issues, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
- Monitor system performance and usage reports to ensure optimal SharePoint functionality.
- Collaborate with the development team to implement custom solutions and workflows in SharePoint.
- Manage content types, metadata, and document libraries to maintain an organized SharePoint environment.
- General IT Support:
- Provide technical assistance and support to end-users on various IT issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
- Assist with system updates, patch management, and software deployments.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving IT incidents and service requests.
- Assist with configuring and maintaining hardware and software systems.
- Programming and data skills, essential to implement and deploy AI and BI solutions
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with technical resources to support SharePoint upgrades and migrations.
- Assist in creating and updating documentation for IT procedures, including SharePoint-related processes.
- Provide training and guidance to users on SharePoint features and best practices.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure SharePoint security settings and permissions align with company policies and best practices.
- Assist with the implementation of security protocols and perform periodic audits to ensure compliance.
- Education:
- Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Microsoft certificates and SharePoint-related certificates would be beneficial, but not necessary.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support or administration
- Practical experience with SharePoint Online or SharePoint Server administration, including site creation, permission management, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, Active Directory, and security best practices.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with PowerShell for SharePoint administration would be beneficial.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of IT best practices, including ITIL, is a plus.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with SharePoint Designer or PowerApps.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Flow (Power Automate) for automating workflows.
