Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator supports human resource processes for all business locations and team members. The Human Resources Coordinator assists with recruiting, onboarding, and orientation; supports the administration of team member pay, benefits, and leaves of absence; facilitates safety and workers’ compensation programs; helps with record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry; and aids in the implementation of team member engagement and recognition programs.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the HR team to assist with recruiting by posting job requisitions, reviewing candidates, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, creating offer letters, and communicating and following up with candidates throughout the process.
- Manages new hire pre-screening, onboarding, and orientation.
- Completes forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, completes E-Verify processing, and maintains I-9 files.
- Supports the administration of company benefits programs (health insurance, 401(k), employee assistance programs, etc.) as well as leaves of absence (personal leave, FMLA, short-term and long-term disability claims, etc.).
- Aids in the administration of safety programs and processing workers’ compensation claims.
- Serves as primary backup for payroll processing.
- Conducts audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
- Assists with the offboarding process.
- Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
- Performs data entry, maintains accurate company and team member data, and pulls reports in the HRIS.
- Facilitates the company’s team member gifts and recognition program.
- Collaborates with the corporate FUNishment team by attending regular meetings and helping to plan and coordinate team member engagement events for on-site and remote team members.
- Answers team member requests and questions via phone, email, and in person.
- Schedules meetings as requested by the HR Manager.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Files documents into appropriate electronic team member and HR department files.
- Assists with and/or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Processes mail and monitors the HR email inbox and secure fax.
- Serves as a backup for the Executive Assistant to the CVO and Integrator (notetaking in meetings, scheduling, answering the front door, etc.).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- One to three years’ administrative, clerical or related experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Works at least one day per week on-site at distribution center and printing facility in Wyoming, MI.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable using office technology and equipment such as computers, tablets, etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Available to work in-office Monday – Friday during regular business hours with flexibility to come in early or stay late for specific projects or team member meetings.
