Hope Crew Coordinator (Catersville, GA)

Ministry Function:

The Hope Crew Coordinator supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by assisting in planning and leading various volunteer projects. The role will work with Supply Chain operationally with inventory management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Assists in recruiting, training, scheduling, and directing groups for Hope Crew volunteer projects at the local level.
2. With passion and prayer, grows the Hope Crew lead and regular volunteer base.
3. Provides excellent customer service to our individual and group volunteers.
4. Encourages volunteers and recognizes volunteering milestones.
5. Assists in facilitating, organizing, planning, and executing Hands of Hope events and other special projects.
6. Oversees and assists with volunteer check-in, setting up, and cleaning up projects for Hope Crew events.
7. Coordinates inquiries relating to kit packing opportunities and maintains records.
8. As a part of the warehouse team, conducts pallet inventory and inbound and outbound procedures for the loading and unloading of pallets.
9. Reports on all projects to Supply Chain and other identified team members. This includes adjustment sheets and weekly reports.
10. Assists in an up-to-date and accurate inventory for Hope Crew.
11. Assists in reporting volunteer numbers and hours for Hope Crew.
12. Interacts with various working groups at Convoy of Hope to stay aware of needs and opportunities and manages incoming project requests.
13. Follows general and equipment-specific safety rules. Uses appropriate safety protection equipment and other safety devices.
14. Fulfills other duties as assigned.

 Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. One or more years of prior volunteer and event management experience is preferred.
3. Demonstrates strong leadership and motivational skills to manage and motivate large groups of volunteers.
4. Positively contributes to team projects, cooperates with team members, and assists supervisors in planning and evaluation.
5. Able and willing to work various hours to lead Hope Crew events.
6. Able and willing to travel domestically up to 5% of the time.
7. Must meet the requirements to drive and operate Convoy and rental vehicles, have a clean driving record, and be at least twenty-five years of age.
8. Able to obtain forklift certification through COH training.
9. Demonstrates the ability to use a computer for basic data entry. Experience using Warehouse Management Systems is preferred.
10. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times frequently.
11. Must be able to traverse warehouse areas quickly.
12. Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, stretch, lay, and squat to maintain equipment.
13. Can safely operate all warehouse equipment routinely.
14. Displays excellent interpersonal communication skills, tact and mediation skills, and enjoyment of public speaking.
15. Exhibits excellent written communication skills for creating, editing, and proofreading correspondence.
16. Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to be detail-oriented and to follow through.
17. Displays the ability to multi-task, solve problems, and manage deadlines.
18. Demonstrates proficiency in personnel computers, accessory equipment, and software programs, including Salesforce, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, and Excel.
19. Attends and actively participates in COH At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
20. Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
21. Positively represents the Ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
22. As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization's religious purposes for which it exists and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position directly supervises lead, individual, and group volunteers.
