What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Management Director position at Convoy of Hope?
Ministry Function:
The Project Management Director supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope (COH) by leading the project management team and providing project leadership as directed by Marketing & Communications (MarCom) leadership. This individual will oversee and support Project Managers and Production Managers, while also directly managing or supporting various high-level projects. The Project Management Director will be responsible for optimizing processes and workflows to further support the Marketing & Communications division as well as all other teams at the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides ongoing oversight and support to each Project Manager and Production Manager, including supporting their professional development.
- Serves as a liaison between the Project Management team and other teams, vendors, and freelance workers at COH.
- Demonstrates independent decision-making ability on behalf of COH by providing leadership and oversight to key projects as assigned by the Vice President – Communications, ensuring deadlines are met and collaborating on creative and functional tasks with appropriate team members.
- Works to improve various project management processes to better serve both the Marketing & Communications division and internal clients.
- From time to time will lead additional special projects as strategically assigned by the Chief Communications Officer - SVP.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associate’s degree preferred, High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 4 years’ experience in project management or similar roles.
- Supervisory or other leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to use Mac programs, including but not limited to G-mail, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel proficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying the communications work of COH within the organization, with partners and with our target audience.
- Experience with Monday.com (or similar) project-management system preferred.
- A professional, resourceful and determined style with the ability to work independently and is comfortable in a close-knit team-oriented setting.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle concurrent, multiple job tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relational skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally on an infrequent basis.
- Attends and actively participates in COH At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
- Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
- Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
- As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization's religious purposes for which it exists and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Project Managers and Production Manager(s).
