Ministry Function
The Senior Director of Finance supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by directing investment analysis, financial planning and analysis, and finance initiatives. This person will be an advisor to the Division leaders, evaluating and assisting them with their financial planning and execution. Initiatives include new reporting systems, processes related to global growth and expanded reporting and analysis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the operations of financial planning and analysis throughout the organization and with the Division leaders.
- Lead implementation of a budgeting and reporting process utilizing Microsoft Dynamics and other tools, as necessary.
- Manage and oversee investment and trustee reporting processes. Assist in investment related strategies and relationships.
- Ensure accuracy and timely distribution of financial management reports including weekly and monthly statements, dashboard, monthly and annual budget, board reporting and annual audit.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting; develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
- Provide ministry related leadership to direct reports and other team members. Create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Provide strategic level financial insight and risk management through participation in senior leadership meetings.
- Establish and maintain systems and controls, including through new technologies, that verify the integrity of all processes and data and enhance the organization's value.
- Support Senior Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer and other departments with special projects.
- Leverage strengths of the current finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
- Guide larger, cross-divisional teams outside of direct span of control.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or similar required.
- Master of Accounting, CPA, or CMA are preferred.
- 10 years broad finance experience required
- 5 years previous management experience in the non-profit industry strongly preferred.
- Experience leading teams in accounting and/or Finance.
- Experience working with global teams.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrable passion for COH’s mission; a hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic environment.
- An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
- A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally and domestically on an infrequent basis.
- Attends and actively participates in COH At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
- Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
- Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position directly supervises a Finance Working Group team member.
