The Director of Finance is a leader of leaders that directs the efforts of a total staff of 12 in leading, planning, and executing the accounting and finance functions of the company.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Collects necessary information to prepare consolidated financial statements and other reports for multiple companies within the Schuber Mitchell umbrella
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external financial stakeholders including banks, insurance agencies, and external audit partners
- Oversees annual ESOP governance and valuation activities
- Monitors company cash flow and banking availability
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Provides guidance to other departments regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures
- Provides leadership to the accounting department that is in alignment with company vision, mission, and values
- Cultivates the personal, spiritual, financial, and professional growth of employees through open communication and weekly 1:1’s
- Identifies training and development opportunities of the team
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience performing accounting functions within a company or CPA environment
- Superior skill and understanding of excel and accounting software required
- BS or BA in accounting, finance, or business administration required. CPA preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills required
- Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with low noise levels
- Prolonged periods of sitting required
- Rarely required to walk, stand, lift, climb, pull, or push objects weighing up to 10 pounds
