Ministry Function:
The Volunteer Crew Project Manager supports the Ministry of Convoy of Hope (COH) by overseeing, managing, and assisting in planning and leading various volunteer projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee recruiting, training, scheduling, and facilitating individual and group day volunteers for Hope Crew projects and events.
- Oversee recruiting, training, scheduling, and facilitating individual, church, and corporate group day volunteers for Convoy Kit projects.
- Oversee recruiting and training Lead Volunteers on how to complete Volunteer Crew projects and how to lead the day volunteers.
- Oversee, organize, and facilitate Volunteer Crew special events.
- With passion and prayer, grow the volunteer base of Convoy by interacting with local churches and groups, local influence and encouraging other COH Team members to do the same.
- Oversee and collaborate with COH Working Group hosts to promote volunteering with Convoy and capture media assets.
- Provide excellent customer service to our volunteers, churches, businesses, and other Convoy working groups and program areas.
- Oversee the master list of volunteer projects and project supply inventories and order supplies for the projects as needed.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain to order the products needed to make Convoy Kits.
- Oversee volunteer check-in process and the set-up/clean-up of projects.
- Coordinate volunteer hours and numbers reporting.
- Responsible for reporting on all projects to Supply Chain and ensuring inventory adjustment sheets and project reports are timely and accurate.
- Using our internal platforms of communication, collaborate and service requests of Convoy working groups, program areas, and regional distribution centers.
- Follow and ensure all volunteers follow general and equipment safety rules. Uses appropriate personal safety protection equipment and other safety devices.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred; a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 years of prior volunteer and event management experience is preferred.
- Demonstrates strong leadership and motivational skills to manage and motivate large groups of volunteers.
- Independently makes decisions for effectively supervising volunteers.
- Positively contributes to team projects, cooperates with team members, and assists supervisors in planning and evaluation.
- Able and willing to travel domestically 25% - 40% of the time.
- Able and willing to work various hours to oversee projects and events.
- Able to obtain forklift certification.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
- Displays excellent interpersonal communication skills, tact, mediation skills, and enjoyment of public speaking.
- Exhibits excellent written communication skills for creating, editing, and proofreading correspondence.
- Possesses strong organizational skills, is detail-oriented, and follows through on assigned tasks.
- Displays the ability to multi-task, solve problems, and manage deadlines.
- Demonstrates proficiency in personal computers and software programs, including but not limited to Salesforce, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, and Excel.
- Attends and actively participates in COH At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
- Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
- Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
- As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization's religious purposes for which it exists and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly supervises team members, as well as both individual and group volunteers.
