TITLE: Service Advisor
REPORTS TO: Service Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Service Advisor will assist customers with questions; provide recommendations for proper maintenance and repairs of vehicles for work to be done at dealership. Schedule appointments for customers, open repair orders, create estimates of the repairs needed, sell work to customers and advise when vehicles are completed.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Treat all customers and coworkers with courtesy and respect in accordance with CBTG policies
- Greet customers entering the service area
- Communicate with customers for estimated cost of repairs, completion time, and maintenance work that is to be provided
- Advise customers of any outstanding repairs, recalls, service programs, and/or preventative maintenance that needs to be completed
- Secure agreement from customer on the repairs to be performed prior to work being started
- Advise customer of unexpected additional repairs and/or price changes
- Complete repair orders by asking diagnostic questions to identify customer needs/concerns and record all information timely & accurately
- Interpret warranty information and policies to customers
- Maintain a close working relationship with dispatcher/shop foreman and technicians on scheduling and status of repairs as well as quality control
- Sell service and maintenance to customers via in person, by telephone, and other methods, as requested.
