What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-House Counsel position at Conway Medical Center?
The IC will be responsible for all legal aspects of the hospital and perform duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acting in the best interest of CMC, and fully supporting the mission, vision, and values of CMC. The IC performs legal and factual research necessary to draft and analyze various contracts, policies, and other documents and to advise internal clients, and coordinates with outside counsel, as appropriate. Additional responsibilities will include serving as a resource that guides key leaders by deploying programs and processes that minimize legal risks. Interacts daily with hospital key management to provide legal advice on matters relating to hospital operations including, risk management issues, employment issues, compliance issues, and hospital-medical staff relationship issues.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree required.
Experience
- Minimum three (3) years of experience advising on a broad range of legal matters.
- Previous experience advising hospitals and other health care providers on a broad range of health law preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Valid driver’s license in good standing required coupled with transportation that allows for travel around the region to various company facilities.
- License, registration, and certification as required by the state.
- Eligible to practice law within the state required.
