Overview:
Works collaboratively with the Clinical Systems Coordinator and clinical departments in problem solving issues, communication, documentation, and in the implementation and maintenance of clinical systems. Participates in the design and implementation of software as it pertains to clinical practice. Participates in in-service and computer training of current and incoming clinical staff and physicians.

- Current Arkansas RN License or LPN License
- Proven strong computer skills
- 3 years experience in the field of Information Systems in the Nursing environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the use of Meditech.
- Participates in the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of the clinical systems. These activities will include database building, data collection, documentation and tracking of issues and required fixes. Must maintain an up-to-date understanding of the processes involved in these activities.
- Participate in the process of revising and implementing changes in both the automated and the manual components of the clinical system.
- Provide active user support, including but not limited to training and education. Assist in the evaluation and development of training and in-service programs.
- Takes measures to insure that patient confidentiality is maintained.
- Reports system issues to the Clinical Coordinator and Information Systems for resolution.
- Perform daily system checks to ensure that the system is functioning as intended.
- Identifies and assists in the resolution of issues arising in the clinical modules that overlap clinical modules relating to the set up and operation of the health information system.
- Conducts periodic meetings between surgical departments to provide a forum for raising new issues and resolving old ones relating to the surgical software.
- Assists with testing of all software updates/new releases for the surgical software.
- Communicates regularly with the Clinical Systems Coordinator regarding progress, issues, future planning and implementation, revisions, and hardware issues.
- Cross-trains in other software related to the clinical information systems.
- Assists in fiscal planning for clinical information systems.
- Performs quality reviews of documentation and processes.
- Maintains knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in relation to information technology. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to assist staff and respond appropriately to those needs via computerized technology.
