What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Assistant Training position at Cook County North Shore Hospital?

North Shore Health has training for Nursing Assistants available.
This is a paid training position to become eligible to take the Nursing Assistant competency test and be listed on the Nursing Assistant Registry. Your time will be spent split between the Nursing Assistant course (computer training, classroom time, skills lab, and clinical training) and working under the supervision of the Charge Nurse to provide resident care.
Once accepted into this program, you will have a four (4) month period to complete the training program, pass the competency testing, and be placed on the Nursing Assistant Registry. If you have not completed the program and are not listed on the Nursing Assistant Registry after the four-month time frame, you will not be eligible to work providing resident care but will be able to complete the course portion.
Once you are on the Nursing Assistant Registry you are eligible to be hired into a permanent nursing assistant position. After completing the required employment commitment, the cost for the course will be waived.
Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age.
Starting wage is $17.17 per hour. Once certified starting wage is $19.48.
