Job Summary

Manage one or more projects lifecycle, from initial project planning phases through completion. Meet with leaders, vendors, consultants, and other project staff to establish project plans, budgets, and schedules. Coordinate project resources and track project progress against established timelines and schedules. Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to specification. Act as a liaison between the bureau / department and clients and assign project staff / consultants to changes or problems.

The Finance Transformation Office, a division within the Bureau of Finance's Office of the Chief Financial Officer, operates under the leadership of the Director of Strategic Projects and is tasked with overseeing and managing strategic and operational initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director of Strategic Projects, the Senior Project Manager will manage one or more projects' lifecycles, from the initial planning phases through to completion. They will meet with leaders, vendors, consultants, and project staff to establish project plans, budgets, and schedules. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will coordinate project resources, track progress against established timelines, and ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to specification. Serving as a liaison between the bureau / department and clients, the role includes assigning project staff or consultants to address changes or problems as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher is required and
  • Four (4) years of project management experience or directly related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft SharePoint or Microsoft Power BI Certification

  • Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

  • Ability to resolve complex situations that may involve established policies or require the establishment of new policies or procedures and ability to review, analyze, and resolve.
  • Skill and proficiency in analyzing, reviewing, and documenting the performance of non-County professional services consultants engaged in County projects.
  • Ability to coordinate development, analyze feasibility, and conduct studies for bureau / department projects and to assume primary or sole responsibility in such matters.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members, mid-level leadership, and potentially senior leaders on projects.
  • Ability to enable collaborative teaming and oversee the work of a project.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to travel to various work sites throughout the county.
  • Physical Requirements : Light Work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job / occupation is rated Light Work when it requires : (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight of the materials is negligible.
