Cooley Public Strategies is a public affairs firm based in Nashville with an office in Washington, D.C., and a nationwide client footprint. CPS is an issue management firm specializing in C-level strategic public policy consulting, media relations, community engagement and research to some of the nation’s top companies and non-profit organizations.
A Public Affairs candidate will:
· Serve as a day-to-day account contact for assigned clients.
· Manage multiple projects primarily in healthcare and infrastructure sectors with competing priorities and deadlines.
· Provide strategic counsel to clients and colleagues about the approach to a wide range of public affairs challenges.
· Take rough information from clients and turn it into written materials for client internal audiences, reporters, and the public.
· Plan and execute events, such as grand openings, press tours, roundtables and press conferences.
· Develop and nurture relationships with clients, key stakeholders and community leaders relevant to the firm’s goals.
· Work in a hybrid environment, cultivating collaboration and communication with colleagues in the office and remotely.
· Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to continuous growth.
· Should be process and project management oriented, comfortable working with teams to drive work forward.
· Perform additional duties as needed for the benefit of the firm and its clients.
Required Experience:
· Bachelor's degree with at least 2-4 years of experience in public affairs, political campaigns, journalism or a related field.
