Job Overview:
The Strategic Marketing Director will lead the strategic direction for marketing, focusing on market analysis, growth strategy, and protecting the core business while identifying opportunities for market share expansion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Strategic Marketing Director will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and drive strategic marketing strategies that align with Cooper’s objectives to protect core markets while collaborating with Business development to identify growth opportunities in new regions and segments.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure marketing initiatives directly support pipeline growth and conversion
- Leverage CRM and marketing automation tools to optimize customer engagement, sales operations, lead generation, and proposal management.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to anticipate changes in customer behavior and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Be a change agent. This is about doing things better and differently. This involves overseeing sales operations with a focus on enhancing sales processes, implementing cutting-edge sales technology, and ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
- Collaborate with sales, pricing, and analytics teams to enhance the bidding process, ensuring data-driven pricing strategies and optimized sales attainment
- Develop and implement sales forecasts and strategies. Optimize sales process and tools.
- Conduct and analyze market research to identify trends, customer behaviors / needs, and the competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and shape a product/ industry specific marketing strategy.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships and alliances to expand market reach, drive initiatives, and enter new markets / countries.
- aligning sales strategies with marketing initiatives to maximize market penetration and revenue.
- Travel ~25% of the time
Required Skills and Qualification:
- BA/BS in Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or Liberal Arts (MBA in marketing or communications is a plus)
- 8 years of relevant and related sales and marketing experience required along with 4 years of experience in leadership. (Industry preferred: Oil and Gas, Power, Aviation, Energy, Transportation)
- Proven experience in analyzing market trends and shaping strategies accordingly
- Ability to lead cross-functional marketing teams, including digital marketing, communications, and sales enablement
- Expertise in using data and analytics for decision-making, driving personalized marketing, and customer segmentation.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and marketing automation tools to enhance efficiency and sales conversion
- Working with complicated industrials products. Specific expertise in the industrial engine and compressor sector. Experience in developing and executing product specific strategic plans, including market analysis, segmentation and positioning to drive growth, market penetration and / or strategic alliances.
- Customer centric attitude coupled with a deep curiosity to understand customer needs behaviors and market dynamics.
- A strong professional network that includes industry leaders, potential partners, and influencers, facilitating collaborations and strategic alliances.
- A track record of creativity and innovation in solving problems and taking advantage of new opportunities, demonstrating the ability to think outside the box and drive significant advancements.
- Agile Marketing Capabilities: Strong understanding and experience in agile marketing, including rapid test-and-learn approaches and campaign adaptability

- Experience in collaborating across functions to ensure alignment between regional sales, marketing, pricing, strategic accounts, and other departments.
