Job Overview:
The Inventory Specialist at Cooper Machinery Services plays a crucial role in managing the flow of products and supplies within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing inventory processes, ensuring accurate records, and collaborating with various teams to optimize inventory management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with receiving department for deliveries and oversee the receipt of materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring proper documentation.
- Collaborate with operations, production, and engineering teams to reconcile any inventory discrepancies.
- Establish and implement Kanban systems to efficiently kit materials and buyouts for upcoming scheduled work orders and production jobs.
- Work with procurement and vendors to maintain appropriate material levels and prevent shortages.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and coordinate with supply chain/procurement and production teams to manage onsite inventory.
- Place purchase requests within the internal purchasing and buying team as needed.
- Operate forklifts, hand lifts, and carts for loading and unloading items.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to interface effectively and professionally with internal functions.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and familiarity with manufacturing assembly processes.
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, logistics, or manufacturing positions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) and good PC skills.
- Ability to lift 30-50lbs on a daily basis.
