Short Description
The role of Data Abstractor will be used to effectively and efficiently transcribe and abstract clinical and clerical data from the historical medical records and EMR and move it to Epic EMR.
Generalized understanding of medical terminology and application of said terminology through effective and efficient transcription practices
Prioritization of appropriate medical records through recognizing greater need (appt. time, provider recommendation)
Interprets data results using analysis and data mining. Compiles reports on key patient data and identifies potential exclusions.
Enters and updates client level data in computerized software and generates reports as requested.
Maintenance of database/record of all transcribed and abstracted medical records
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations

Education Requirements
High School / GED Required
Degree majoring in Information Technology, Healthcare, Nursing or Computer Science or 2 or more years applicable experience is acceptable in place of a degree - PREFERRED
