Job Overview:
As a Desktop Engineer you will be a member of the infrastructure engineering team, supporting the end user computing environment at Cooper. Your primary role will encompass creating, maintaining and deploying corporate devices using cloud native tools, managing and patching endpoints and deploying software as needed. This role will also act as a Tier2/3 resource for the support desk, handling escalated calls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all Cooper endpoints, including mobile devices with tooling such as Intune
Oversee the development and installation of new hardware and software
Implement and manage all endpoint management tooling for Cooper
Ensure documentation existing for all imaging and deployment procedures
Participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues.
Automate deployment and monitoring tasks.
Provide prompt, friendly customer service
Configure and support desktop and laptop PCs
Contribute to development of images for desktop, laptop PCs and Apple OS X PCs (laptop and Desktop)
Create installable packages for all client Operating Systems (Intune)
Operate and support a variety of PCs and peripheral equipment which include printers, network interface cards, and scanners
Relocate, assemble, and install equipment
Troubleshoot problems with PCs, peripheral equipment, network connectivity, and software
Backup and restore data as needed or scheduled
Plan, design, and act on environment requirements for laptop and desktop equipment and users
Interact with customers, peers, management with a positive and professional attitude
Participate in special projects, as necessary
Maintain end users’ desktop experience
Keeping up with latest desktop technologies and develop desktop platform roadmap
Maintain global hardware standards for desktops and laptops
Assist with resolving tier-2 and 3 support incidents.
Document, maintain and improve standard processes in desktop management
Resolve problems effectively and efficiently to minimize users’ disruptions
Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
7 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a desktop/endpoint management role. This should include 3 Years of Desktop Support experience, and experience with UEM/MDM solutions like Intune
Strong understanding of imaging, application packaging, device deployment and remote support
Strong knowledge of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies, with at least 3 years of Azure Cloud infrastructure and services experience
Strong understanding of IT operations, including monitoring, incident management, and disaster recovery.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Microsoft 365: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration
Device Management: Experience with Intune and Autopilot for device management
Cybersecurity: Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, E5 security suite, and other cybersecurity tools
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead IT system upgrades and optimizations
Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Time Management: Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
