Role Summary:
The Field Service Technician IV – High Speed Engines/Compressors will be responsible for coordinating and supervising activities while providing hands-on technical and operational support of high-speed Reciprocating Compression equipment such as Caterpillar, Waukesha, and Ariel. This position will provide support at customer facilities during commissioning, start-up, operations, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance testing, and trouble-shooting situations as required. This position requires frequent travel of long-term duration.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Field Services Site Team Leader/Manager, provide technical and mechanical services to external customers in settings such as compressor stations, process plants, etc.
In the role of Field Service Technician IV you will:
Perform preventative maintenance with site team leader guidance
Participate in diagnosis and correct engine problems with supervision
Repair and / or rebuild reciprocating engines and compressors per site team lead
Complete safety checks, observe all safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly
Must be able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, improve and promote quality, and monitor own work to ensure quality
Monitor key operations variables and other process data, report to site team lead, and together ensure that the units are operating within design parameters
At team leads’ direction, attend on-site operations meeting with client personnel to proactively identify issues and lead the efforts to resolve them
With team lead guidance, establish working relationships with key customer contacts including operators, engineering and maintenance personnel to proactively manager long term and short-term issues
With team lead guidance, support turn-around activities for customers
Will continually seek both technical and product training when available
Treat management and other employees with respect and contribute to building a positive team spirit
Follow instructions and promptly respond to management direction
Work with integrity, always upholding the company's values

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 10 years of experience in similar role
Advance knowledge of field service tooling and equipment
Must have experience with a wide range of engines and compressors of all sizes
Prefer certification from CAT/ Waukesha / Ariel (or equivalent) to:
CAT Gas
CAT Gas II
CAT Electrical
CAT 3600 ADEM III
CAT 3600 Master Mechanic
CAT Failure Analysis
Waukesha GET - Gas Engine Technology (Factory-certified course)
Waukesha GEE - Gas Engine Emissions

General knowledge of mechanical systems (i.e. Pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical) and experience utilizing mechanical hands tools
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a Cooper Machinery Services owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record
Possess or obtain a valid driver’s license
Must be able to travel to customer sites 100% of the work time
Must be able to attend and pass required industry and site-specific safety training
Experience with SAP preferred
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds physically able to perform labor, prolonged periods of standing, bending, or kneeling to meet the requirement of working in the parts warehouse to put items on the shelf for storage.
Travel will be required. Estimated 25% with some overnight stays.
