Job Overview:
Cooper Machinery Services is currently seeking a paid Engineering Summer Intern. The purpose of this internship is to be a productive participant in research and design analysis projects. The intern will also participate in obtaining data used for compressor component design by utilizing different measurement and data collection methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the design or integration of new components into existing installations.
Modify existing BOMs and Drawings, as necessary to support product revisions or enhancements.
Assist the engineers with the preparation of technical data to internal and external customers
Ensure Cooper's drawings and engineering standards are accurate and legible
Process Engineering Work Requests, requiring any drawing or BOM updates Work closely with Cooper's drafting resources to ensure new or revised drawings are accurate and updated in a timely fashion.
Develop (Draw) field sketches that accurately reflect the part or subject.
Required Skills and qualifications:
Qualified candidates will be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.
Must have a basic understanding of industry standards and ASME Code. Must be able to read, revise and create detailed drawings, assembly drawings and customer's blueprint, as necessary.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must work well in a team environment, have strong organizational skills and be able to multitask effectively.
Must be able to work with hands and measurement equipment, including basic measurement tools as well as CMMs.
Must be able to effectively use excel and word to generate useful and legible reports.
Qualified candidates will be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Degree at an Accredited University (typically sophomore through senior year)
