Position Overview:
The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Clubhouse restaurant and Upperdeck Bars at Cooperstown All Star Village, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for guests, staff, and players. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Director, this role focuses on operational efficiency, staff leadership, guest satisfaction, and financial management to drive success in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership and Management:
- Oversee daily operations across food and beverage outlets, including the Clubhouse restaurants, Upperdeck & Dugout Bars, Clubhouse Suite private dinning space, and special events.
- Ensure seamless coordination of food and beverage services with Executive Chef and Back of House teams, maintaining efficiency and consistency.
- Monitor staffing levels, ensuring appropriate coverage to meet demand.
- Uphold and enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Assist the Food & Beverage Director in implementing strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance.
Guest Experience and Satisfaction:
- Ensure excellent service across all dining areas, maintaining high guest satisfaction levels.
- Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Work with marketing to promote food and beverage offerings and drive engagement.
- Implement service improvement plans based on guest feedback.
Financial Management and Budgeting:
- Assist in budget development and financial planning for food and beverage operations.
- Monitor financial performance, including sales, costs, and labor, to ensure profitability.
- Identify and implement cost-control measures to optimize efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management and supplier relationships to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness.
Staff Development and Leadership:
- Hire, train, and mentor food and beverage staff, fostering a strong service-oriented culture.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
- Develop scheduling and labor strategies to balance efficiency and service quality.
- Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
Operational Improvements and Service Enhancements:
- Identify opportunities for service improvements and implement action plans.
- Collaborate with facilities maintenance teams to ensure all food and beverage equipment and facilities are in optimal condition.
- Stay updated on industry trends and introduce innovative solutions to enhance service.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure all operations comply with food safety and health regulations.
- Conduct routine audits to maintain high hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Train staff on proper food handling procedures and safety protocols.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain strong communication with the Food & Beverage Director and other departments.
- Participate in strategic planning meetings to align food and beverage operations with overall business goals.
- Work closely with event coordinators to manage special functions and large-scale dining events.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food and beverage management.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing high-volume food and beverage operations.
- Knowledge of food safety, health regulations, and compliance standards.
- Excellent financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in sports hospitality, resort dining, or large-scale food service operations.
- Proficiency with POS and inventory management systems.
- Experience in marketing and event planning for food and beverage operations.
