Cooperstown Experience, home of Dugout Bar & Grill, is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen for the upcoming season. We are currently conducting interviews for a mid-May start, with the potential for year-round employment as we plan to expand our operations.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adherence to quality standards in food preparation and presentation.
- Develop and maintain a high-quality, creative menu that aligns with our brand
- Plan all food production and service, updating and maintaining recipes and usage records.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to uphold high culinary standards and encourage professional growth.
- Manage food inventory, ordering, and cost control to maximize profitability
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations (HACCP)
- Collaborate with management to improve menu offerings and guest satisfaction
- Plan and execute special events, banquets, and catering services
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment
- Immediately report any equipment, safety, or operational concerns to the Restaurant Manager
Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide kitchen staff
- Expertise in menu development, cost control, inventory management, and operational efficiency
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for high-quality ingredients and culinary innovation
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of NYS Food Safety standards, with experience handling audits and compliance
- ServSafe certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and software, including Excel, inventory management systems, menu planning tools, restaurant management software and POS systems
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Flexible hours/days/weekends required during tournament season
Base Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 per year (depending on experience)
