Essential Functions
- Assist Engineering with design, development, validation, and manufacturing of medical devices.
- Perform engineering tests and document and analyze results.
- Write test protocols and reports.
- Create and modify parts and part drawings using SolidWorks.
- Hands on assembly / engineering builds of prototype parts.
- Organize and assemble design history files.
- Work with QC, Marketing and Manufacturing Departments to help launch new products.
- The R&D department is looking for Engineering students in Mechanical, Biomedical, and related tracks who are motivated to build and expand their real-world skills in a dynamic product development and manufacturing setting. The R&D interns will assist with the product development and core engineering processes. Interns will work on relevant in-process engineering projects during their time with the company.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with mechanical design tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), GD&T, Finite Element Analysis, free body diagrams, FMEA, engineering drawings and documentation.
- Proficiency with analysis and problem solving.
- Ability to utilize common office and web-based software (email, spreadsheets, word processing, presentations) effectively.
- Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently.
- Excellent project management, organizational and follow-through skill set.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Not required, but prior Internship experience is a plus.
- Current college student, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related tracks, entering their Junior, or Senior year.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
