Territory Manager
Position Summary:
Promotes the use of disposable and non-disposable medical products, instruments and capital equipment products to physicians, hospitals, clinics and other medical personnel
Essential Functions:
- Manages and maintains territory account information for use as sales leads, based on company supplied information and independent investigation of the assigned territory.
- Sets goals, organizes information to determine a workable plan for the territory and maintain and grow sales in assigned territory.
- Follow-up with accounts in a timely manner and make appointments with key individuals as necessary
- Manages corporate lead data base system, voice mail and e-mail on a daily basis.
- Calls on prospective and current accounts to act as a consultant and demonstrate new and/or existing products.Consults with accounts on the economic benefits and product advantages of the CooperSurgical products assigned to earn and execute a close.
- Where appropriate, provides samples of products to potential buyers and leaves product for trial following up as necessary to close the sale.
- Works with customer service representatives to keep account information up to date.
- Provides support and service to the customer.May investigates in resolving account problems that may occur with customer and/or internal personnel.
- Conducts product in-services for medical groups.
- Attend trade shows and medical meetings as requested to display and inform physicians and other healthcare professionals about the product line.
- Individual must complete the training requirements of the products and applications of those products.They must pass both interim and final examinations and demonstrate to Training and Sales Management that their clinical and product knowledge, ability to articulate proper assembly, use, clinical application, and maintenance of the instrumentation is within Company Standards.They must demonstrate to the satisfaction of Training and Sales Management their competency in communicating proper use and maintenance of the products.
- Individual must maintain up to date vender certification for credentialing and to maintain access to all accounts. The individual must also maintain medical documentation and a good documented health profile in order to allow them the ability to comply with customer requirements within their territory.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Education and/or experience:
- Completion of a 4 year degree, preferably in a Life Sciences or Business.
- Prefer at least 1 to two years sales experience.
Language skills:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from accounts, regulatory agencies or members of business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
- Ability to communicate the sales message effectively.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
Reasoning ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to uncover objections, negotiate and reach an agreement .

- Must be willing to travel and work independently.
- Must possess basic computer knowledge, Microsoft Word, Excel and be comfortable with basic internet communications.
