Wages

$24.00 - $25.00 per hour

 

Benefits

Generous Paid Time Off (PTO), plus eight paid holidays per year and two floating holidays; cell phone stipend provided; competitive health plan with BlueCross, BlueShield of MN, dental, and vision insurance offerings: Health Savings Account (HSA). There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employees. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. COPAL sponsors a retirement plan with 4% employer match plus a 2% employer contribution after one year of service and immediate vesting.

 

Schedule

This position requires flexibility for occasional evening and weekend hours based on program activities and community events.

 

A Typical Day in the Life…

A typical day as COPAL’s Health and Wellness Program Coordinator provides an opportunity to plan, coordinate, and execute health and wellness initiatives to improve community health outcomes. Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Collaborating with the Health and Wellness (H&W) team to fulfill contract requirements and achieve program outcomes.
  • Assisting the H&W Director in developing and organizing programs that align with community needs and departmental goals.
  • Coordinating key program activities, including health fairs, vaccination events, educational workshops, mental health programs, and community discussions.
  • Managing project timelines, allocating resources, and overseeing logistics to ensure programs are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborating with the H&W team in designing outreach strategies and promotional materials to engage target populations and improve program participation.
  • Providing guidance and support to contractors to foster effective program execution.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with organizations, public agencies, healthcare providers, and local businesses to expand program resources and reach.
  • Educating community members on public health topics, including COVID-19 prevention, vaccination importance, and overall wellness strategies.

 

Who You Are

  • You have previous experience in health program coordination, health promotion, mental health services, or a similar role in a nonprofit or community-based setting.
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • You demonstrate the ability to establish relationships and assist in individual and group conflict resolution.
  • You are skilled in organizing community events and activities.
  • You are familiar with public health principles, community resources, and health equity issues.
  • You demonstrate the ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • You are competent in MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • You are bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • You possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • You are able to travel to sites within a 15-mile radius of the office.
  • You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet COPAL’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
