Project Superintendent

The headquarters for Copeland Development is in Chillicothe, Missouri, with a satellite office in Overland Park, Kansas.

Job Duties

• The candidate must have experience managing, from the job site, all aspects of construction project(s) [including new ground-up and renovation] from project inception through punch list. Elements of the construction process the candidate must be able to explain and provide examples of their experience include the following:
• Reading and understanding plans – Architectural, MEP and Civil.
• Managing the project schedule.
• Maintaining accurate job records including daily job log, schedule updates, email correspondence, and site photos, etc.
• Clearly communicating expectations, requirements, and deadlines.
• Coordinating and conducting on-site meetings with project owners, as well as subcontractors and team members.
• Coordinating subcontractors and labor crews to ensure the project conforms to the plans, specifications and schedules.
• Assisting the project manager by soliciting, analyzing, and qualifying bids from subcontractors.
• Monitoring and enforcing jobsite safety (per OSHA standards) to ensure the safety of those working on the jobsite.
• Identifying and solving complex challenges and presenting alternative solution(s).
• Adapting to changes throughout a project while adhering to plans and specifications.
• Periodic travel is required, as some clients and projects are regional.
  

Qualifications / Experience Required

• The candidate must have 5 years of experience working as a Project Superintendent managing commercial projects (minimum $1 million per project contract price) from start to finish.
• The candidate must be able to read and understand project plans (Architectural, MEP and civil) and project specifications.
• The candidate must be proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office 365 Suite (with emphasis in Word, Excel and Outlook), Bluebeam and/or Adobe Acrobat.
• The candidate must be able to walk the job site, climb ladders and scaffolding, lift loads up to 50 pounds, and pass a pre-employment physical capacity profile to ensure candidate can safety perform job responsibilities.
