Position Overview: The Electrical Purchasing/Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of electrical materials, components, and equipment necessary for construction projects. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials to support project timelines and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for electrical materials and equipment. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
· Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies in alignment with project requirements and budgets. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to forecast material needs and avoid supply chain disruptions.
· Negotiation: Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure favorable contracts and agreements. Ensure that procurement practices comply with company policies and industry regulations.
· Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of electrical materials and equipment. Implement inventory control procedures to minimize excess stock and reduce costs.
· Purchase Orders: Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of specifications and requirements. Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery.
· Quality Assurance: Inspect and verify the quality of received materials and equipment. Address any discrepancies or issues with suppliers promptly to maintain project standards.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance. Generate reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and supplier evaluations.
· Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, finance, and logistics to coordinate procurement activities and resolve any issues that may arise. Provide regular updates on procurement status and potential risks.
· Cost Management: Monitor and control procurement costs to ensure alignment with project budgets. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to achieve them.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management are a plus.
· Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the electrical or construction industry.
· Technical Skills: Knowledge of electrical materials and components. Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
· Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed decisions.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to negotiate effectively and build strong supplier relationships.
· Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
· Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive team environment.
· Safety: OSHA 30 required
· Computer skills: Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Microsoft 365 etc....
Working Conditions:
· Office, site and field based with frequent site visits and supplier facilities.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Salary: 60k /- depend on experience
