JOB OBJECTIVE
The ServiceNow Software Developer II is responsible for designing, developing, and configuring out-of-the-box / custom applications and enhancements within the ServiceNow platform. This mid-level role involves working closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to implement solutions that align with business objectives while following development best practices. The Developer will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND OUTPUTS
MAIN DUTIES
Software Development / Configuration
- Platform Development : Develop and configure ServiceNow applications and modules based on business requirements, ensuring adherence to best practices in code quality and performance meeting or exceeding the SLA(s).
- Custom Application Development : Build and maintain custom applications on the ServiceNow platform, leveraging workflows, UI policies, business rules, and client scripts.
- Integration : Implement integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems using REST / SOAP APIs, ensuring secure and scalable communication between platforms.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution : Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in the ServiceNow environment, providing technical support to resolve system incidents and problems meeting or exceeding the SLA(s).
- Collaborative Problem Solving : Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and refine technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
- Testing & Documentation : Conduct unit testing and participate in peer code reviews to ensure the quality of solutions and maintain thorough technical documentation.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing : Ensure comprehensive documentation of solutions, configurations, and processes, and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions within the team to enhance collective expertise.
- Platform Maintenance : Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of existing ServiceNow instances, including managing updates, patching, and upgrades.
- Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on new ServiceNow features, releases, and development trends, applying this knowledge to optimize platform performance and user experience.
