As a highly valued member of the Dallas, TX Team, this role will support the Warehouse Manager to ensure the timely shipment of quality products. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures, and all SOP’s and work instructions. Foster a team atmosphere, provide vision, and demonstrate support of the company’s core processes. Provide day-to-day leadership of shipping department including handing out work assignments, daily planning, managing performance of direct reports, operational decisions, problem-solving, and conflict management.
AS A SHIPPING SUPERVISOR, YOU WILL:
- Ensure department meets on time delivery and quality goals daily
- Train and manage material handlers to supply materials
- Supervise employee performance by setting goals and consistently holding employees accountable for meeting performance standards
- Conducts on-time performance reviews of direct reports
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Analyze root causes and solve problems effectively and in a timely manner
- Lead, motivate, and inspire individual workers and teams
- Perform daily reconciliation of employee timecards
- Take ownership of issues and problems, seeing them through to resolution
- Ensure that employees are cross-trained and given opportunities to continually learn
- Build collaborative relationships within the organization
- Identify and resolve potential safety problems and respond to safety audits
- Participate in company LEAN manufacturing training and audits, implementing identified efficiencies in department workflow
- Lead effective department meetings
- Perform other job duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or GED 5 years’ experience in a warehouse setting
- Experience with MS Office Suite, and Enterprise Resource Program such as SAP, Oracle, or JDE.
- Experience with receiving/shipping, inventory control functions using a warehouse management system.
- Analytical skills to review numbers for developing benchmark, KPI’s
- Willingness to lead from the front as a hands-on leader, trainer, and employee
- Proven effective leadership and organizational abilities; lead by example in terms of overall performance and conduct. Strong with human relations skills, conflict resolutions.
- Ability to work flexible hours and/or a variety of shifts.
- Work with all levels of management and line associates.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, sit, walk, kneel, bend, carry up to 50 lbs. boxes. Lift boxes 50% of the time or more.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related or a combination of college level education and related work experience
- Excellent communication skills English / Spanish
- Experience with Manhattan WMS
- Knowledge of ISO QMS preferred
