As a Maintenance Technician, you will setup and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
AS A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:
Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to all safety protocols for operating lathes, mills, welders, and other standard tool room equipment.
Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut; enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Start and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Fit and assemble parts into complete assembly.
Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
Operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts.
Develop specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.
Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Must be available periodically for emergency call-in after hours and flexible schedule hours.
Other duties may be assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Journeyman machinist level skills with a minimum of five years or Associates Degree in a Technical Field plus at least 5 years experience.
Candidate must be knowledgeable in the following components: machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance; raw material, production process, quality control, costing, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods; math skills should include: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and their application to the duties of machinist; design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of high precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

About Our Location
Alliance Compressors LLC develops, manufactures, and markets one through six-ton scroll compressors. Scroll compressors are used in commercial and residential air conditioning units. The current facility is over 365,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 35,000 square feet of office space.
