The City of Coppell’s Community Experiences Department is seeking a Playroom Attendant to provide a safe, engaging, and welcoming space for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years in the Sunshine Room at The CORE. This role is all about creating memorable experiences through games, crafts, and interactive play, while ensuring a secure and structured environment for children and their guardians.
This year-round, part-time position (15-20 hours per week) is perfect for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for working with children. Experience
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 18 Years of age.
- Certification of CPR/First Aid is preferred; required upon hire
- Previous experience in child care is preferred but is not required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge
- Understanding of child supervision and age-appropriate activities for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years.
- Familiarity with facility guidelines and best practices for maintaining a safe and structured environment.
- Knowledge of sanitation protocols for cleaning and maintaining toys and play equipment.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures to ensure child safety in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with reservation and check-in software (ActiveNet) for managing attendance and customer records.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide exceptional customer service to children and their guardians.
- Ability to engage children in interactive play, crafts, and structured activities that promote a welcoming atmosphere.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to maintain a clean, structured, and safe play environment.
- Attention to detail for record-keeping, including injury reports and attendance tracking.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt in a dynamic childcare setting.
Abilities
- Ability to supervise and care for infants, toddlers, and young children while ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Ability to enforce facility guidelines in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations, including administering CPR/First Aid as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within the Community Experiences Department.
- Ability to maintain a positive, energetic attitude while fostering a fun and engaging environment for children.
