Schedule Commitment
Regular attendance is an essential job function and the Utility Billing Technician performs essential job functions on an 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule, Monday-Friday, with minimal additional or overtime work required
Pay Plan
This opportunity is non-exempt and on Pay Grade #6. The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade. Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.
Min $20.12 ($41,851)
Mid $24.64 ($51.253)
Max $29.17 ($60,678)
- February 14-March 2: Accepting Applications and Application Material Review.
- March 3-7: Candidates invited to move forward in the next step of our hiring process will be invited to complete a DISC Assessment and participate in a panel interview.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge
- Understanding of municipal utility billing and collection procedures, including payment processing and account management.
- Familiarity with monthly billing cycles, posting procedures, and financial transaction processing.
- Knowledge of office procedures, records management, and document retention practices.
- Ability to read, interpret, and process data accurately within specific procedural guidelines and deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations for billing accuracy and financial transactions.
- Working knowledge of computer operations, including billing software, databases, and reporting tools.
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently under time constraints.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial transactions, reports, and customer records.
- Proficiency in operating office equipment, including 10-key machine, calculator, typewriter, personal computer, keyboard, and electric mail opener.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders.
- Customer service skills to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide clear guidance to internal and external customers.

Experience
RequirementsHigh School Diploma/GED
1 Years of experience in a customer service or a municipal utility environment
Preferences
